Richard Garside is a Director in Newsteer’s Development Consultancy team, helping clients turn development ambition into commercially realistic routes to delivery. He advises on viability, development strategy, financial appraisal, affordable housing, land assembly, CPO and asset optimisation across complex mixed-use and regeneration projects.
Richard works from early site identification and acquisition through to appraisal, negotiation, disposal and partnership structures. His advice helps clients understand how planning, design, value and delivery considerations interact, particularly where public policy objectives and financial realities need to be reconciled.
He supports public sector clients, NHS Trusts, charities and private organisations, working collaboratively with project teams to test options and maintain commercial deliverability at the centre of decision-making. Richard brings calm judgement to complex negotiations and helps clients make clear choices on projects where viability, land, planning and stakeholder priorities all need to work together.
