Business Rates

The landscape of business rates is currently undergoing its most significant structural transformation in the past 50 years. These changes encompass revisions to the appeal system, a shift towards integration with the broader tax framework, and a mandatory requirement for ratepayers to provide information. This evolution calls for a proactive service model that departs from the traditional reactive appeal strategy, emphasising enhanced collaboration between ratepayers and the VOA/HMRC.

In response to these shifts, a new approach is essential—characterised by greater cooperation, influence, and proactive engagement. Ratepayers now require a different blend of advice and support, centered on pre-established agreements and collaborative efforts to maximise value. At Newsteer, our methodology involves seamlessly integrating into the client’s team, working alongside other advisers to formulate and execute strategies, and providing specialised advice to navigate this evolving landscape.
