After graduating in 1996, Jayne began employment as a graduate surveyor.  Jayne’s role included rating valuation appeals, co-ordinating the portfolio valuation of council housing stock, assisting in research for planning appeals, compulsory purchase valuations, landlord and tenant negotiations and other types of valuations.  

Jayne was elected a Member of RICS in 1999 and continued in the rating valuer role until 2001, when she joined the Business Rates Payment & Refund Management Team (BRPRM).  This role involved checking and managing both business rates demands, budgets, payments and refunds for a number of national retailers and landlords.  Jayne assisted in the development of the BRPRM Team, which became integral to many rating appeal contracts including setting up processes, working closely with clients and as London Team Leader in 2003. 

Jayne moved to the Corporate Food Store Team in 2014 specialising in creating drivetime isochrones, developing and maintaining a foodstore property database and dealing with RPI Rent Reviews for multiple clients. 

Jayne sits within the Lease Advisory and Transaction Services Team at Newsteer continuing to deal with RPI Rent Reviews, Turnover Rent calculations, drivetime isochrones and other Landlord and Tenant work.
