Mark Battersby is a Senior Planner in Newsteer’s Planning team, helping clients understand planning risk, identify the right consenting route and progress development opportunities efficiently. He advises across residential, retail, commercial and leisure projects, supporting work from early feasibility through to application, appeal and delivery.
Mark’s experience includes full planning applications, Section 73 applications, Listed Building Consents and planning appeals, as well as strategic advice on major residential and mixed-use schemes across the Thames Valley. He takes a close interest in emerging planning legislation and how changes in policy and process affect live development strategies.
Mark works with clients and multidisciplinary teams to bring policy, design and site-specific issues together in a clear application strategy. His careful, commercially aware approach helps teams respond to change, resolve issues early and maintain momentum towards a deliverable planning outcome.
