This year, Newsteer proudly celebrates a significant milestone – our 5 year anniversary. What began in 2019 as a bold vision shared by three determined individuals has blossomed into a thriving consultancy of 40 talented professionals. Our journey from a small, dedicated team to a leading force in UK’s property, planning and investment market is a testament to the hard work, passion, and commitment of everyone who has been part of this incredible journey so far.

When we founded Newsteer, we had a clear purpose: to go beyond advice – moving from a passive approach of simply providing support to one of working as part of our clients team: making things happen and delivering solutions. This hands-on approach has been key to our success.

We knew the road ahead would be challenging, but nothing could have prepared us for the turbulence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, in those uncertain times, our resilience shone through. We adapted swiftly, taking on new challenges, such as supporting the NHS by planning and delivering vaccination centres across North London. Our ability to pivot and respond to the needs of the moment became a defining feature of our early success.

Whether we’re working on retail, industrial, healthcare or infrastructure projects, our approach is always rooted in technical excellence, commercial insight, and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs. We believe in the power of collaboration—bringing together diverse ideas and expertise to achieve better outcomes, because we know we’re stronger together. We partner with like-minded individuals and organisations that share these values, a collective we call the Newsteer Neighbourhood. This includes InDev, a specialist development management consultancy we launched in 2023. Together, we bring best-in-class service providers to deliver smarter, more effective solutions for our clients.

Over the past five years, we’ve played a crucial role in many transformative projects. From London’s Park Royal to Bristol Temple Meads, Topgolf’s UK expansion plans and Tesco’s asset optimisation strategy, to delivering the new West Suffolk Hospital as part of the Government’s New Hospital programme, we have advised on and secured planning permission for ambitious development projects. Our appointment to multiple frameworks, including the CCS estates management framework, together with recognition in the RTPI Planning Awards further underscore our commitment to quality and innovation in every project we undertake. Just last month we learnt that we’ve been shortlisted for the NLA’s New London Awards for our work with Ealing Council on the South Acton Masterplan.

A significant chapter in our story is the formation and rapid growth of our Occupier Advisory Team, which joined us in January. The team manages more than 1 million sqft of commercial space across the UK and Channel Islands, working on behalf of clients including Autotrader , United Utilities , Capita , Ultra ,Crosta Mollica,  Brooks Macdonald, Elis and Product Madness.

But our journey isn’t just about business success—it’s about purpose and impact. We’re deeply committed to social responsibility, which is why we’ve joined Real Estate Balance to promote diversity and have achieved carbon-neutral status, aligning our operations with the broader goals of sustainability and inclusivity.
