Newsteer developed a phased Manchester office strategy for Moneysupermarket, providing the flexibility to respond to changing workforce needs while creating a clear route towards a 30,000 sq ft permanent headquarters. The strategy delivered £2.5 million in savings.
The client’s challenge
As Moneysupermarket’s business matured, its workplace needs were changing. The company wanted to grow its Manchester presence and access the city’s strong talent pool, while avoiding committing too early to a long-term property solution that might not meet future requirements.
Our solution
Newsteer created a flexible, phased property strategy. This began with a two-year lease at 57 Spring Gardens, followed by an additional 100 desks at WeWork St Peter’s Square as the team expanded, before progressing towards the acquisition of a 30,000 sq ft permanent headquarters.
Beyond advice: how we added value
By developing a detailed understanding of Moneysupermarket’s business, people and changing workplace requirements, Newsteer was able to align each property decision with what the business needed at that stage – maintaining flexibility while keeping sight of the longer-term goal.
Outcomes and impact
TThe phased strategy enabled Moneysupermarket to adapt its accommodation as the business evolved, while avoiding unnecessary property commitments. It delivered £2.5 million in savings and established a clear pathway towards a permanent Manchester headquarters.
