Newsteer Real Estate Advisers is very pleased to have submitted a full planning application for our client Amro Partners to the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Council after an extensive pre-application and design review process for the scheme known as The Rex, at a key town centre site opposite Kingston Station.
The proposal is designed by HTA Design LLP and is for the recladding, internal reconfiguration and extensions to the existing building to create 202 co-living units in place of 64 student rooms with the retention of 4 commercial units and the creation of a new café and co-working areas at ground floor, and high quality internal and external shared residential amenity spaces.
From Newsteer, Paul Manning and Rachel Mengham advised on planning and Richard Garside and Lottie Smallwood advised on financial viability.
The client and team were supported by HTA Design LLP on energy and sustainability; landscaping; daylight, sunlight and overshadowing; The Terrapin Group on strategic communications; Air Quality Consultants Ltd on air quality, RBA Acoustics Ltd on noise, Cole Easdon on flood risk, Whitby Wood on drainage, geotechnical and structural matters; Caneparo Associates on highways matters; Architectural Aerodynamics on wind; Montagu Evans on heritage and TVIA supported by Cityscape Digital on verified views; OFR Consultants on fire safety, Ecology Solutions Group on ecology, RPS on archaeology and LUC on EIA screening.
