Alastair is Newsteer’s Managing Director and a proven business leader with the property industry. He was previously Managing Director of GL Hearn (part of Capita Plc). Prior to that Alastair was head of the Development Group at GL Hearn – widely acknowledged as one of the market leading practices. 

With 28 years experience gained across all areas of planning, development and regeneration, Alastair advises both the public and private sectors, working and leading on some of the largest commercial projects in the UK from inception through to delivery. He advises strategically and leads teams to deliver viable and buildable planning permissions, for major mixed use and residential, build to rent and student developments. 

Alastair’s experience tends to involve complex development projects, often public private partnerships, or situations where there is a need for a developer, investor or property company to work closely with the local and strategic authority, together with other stakeholders, to deliver positive change.
