Affordable Housing
Our specialist Affordable Housing Team provides RICS Red Book Valuation and development consultancy advice to Registered Providers (both ‘for profit,’ and ‘not for profit’), Pension Funds and Investors, Developers, and Public Sector Clients. We undertake valuations for a range of purposes including stock transfers, valuation advice to support sales and acquisitions, January 1999 Values and Target Rent calculations, income threshold testing, and to support Expert Witness instructions.
Compulsory Purchase & Compensation
Our compulsory purchase & compensation team provide specialist valuation advice in this complex field. We use our knowledge of the statutory framework and practical market knowledge to provide first-class advice for those who are proposing to both acquiring authorities and claimants.

Using best practice software we regularly run complex development appraisals and cashflows for a range of valuation purposes. We have a deep technical understanding of valuing and negotiating agreements for the both new easements and the release or modification of existing easements, rights and restrictive covenants. We are particularly experienced in advising on valuation matters relating to the use of Appropriation / s.203 Housing and Planning Act 2016
Expert Witness
We are experienced and proficient in providing expert valuation evidence whether this is in relation to existing assets, development viability, affordable housing in planning applications, lease renewals / rent reviews, or compulsory purchase compensation matters. Our staff have submitted expert reports and presented evidence at Planning Appeals, Public Inquiries, Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber), the High Court, and to Arbitrators/Independent Experts in a range of matters. Rights to Light
We specialise in providing technical valuation advice for Rights of Light injuries. We advise property owners, local authorities and developers on the assessment of compensation where appropriation / Section 203 Housing and Planning Act 2016 is used. We are also experienced in advising on negotiated damages for developer’s profit shares, where the assessment of compensation / premium payable for release requires the assessment of development gain through reviewing cutback assessments and undertaking development appraisals to compare developers profit and land value gain.
