David has over 17 years’ experience working in both the public and private sectors and as a result regularly negotiates with local planning authorities, developers and key stakeholders in relation to a variety of development projects within and outside of London. 

David frequently advises developers and investors on residential and mixed use projects throughout the UK on schemes providing the more traditional residential accommodation as well as supported living, assisted living and extra care products. 

He is highly regarded in the arena of asset optimisation strategy and delivery. He has a proven track record of accelerating portfolio/asset growth as well as rationalisation and transformation. This expertise extends to private and public sector landlords including NHS Trusts throughout the country realising value from surplus or underutilised land. 

David advises a variety of occupier and landlord clients in all Use Classes including national retailers, high street banks, coffee shop and restaurant operators, gyms and serviced office providers. As a result, David has in depth knowledge of Permitted Development Rights as well as the prior approval process and regularly updates clients at a strategic level and on a site by site basis. 

Highlights

  • Secured planning permission (hybrid application) for 950 homes within a mixed use development including a convenience store, doctor’s surgery, gymnasium and a children’s nursery on behalf of Meyer Homes.
  • Secured outline planning permission for a replacement (and cost neutral) 200,000sqft community hospital, care home, extra care units and key worker units in Norfolk.
  • Secured full planning permission for a new 86,000sqft mental health inpatient unit at the Whittington Hospital on behalf of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust
  • Secured planning permission at appeal to redevelop a golf course clubhouse in the Green Belt to provide 20no. apartments
