Prior to joining Newsteer Gabriella spent 12 years working as a Planning Officer at South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC). During her time at SODC Gabriella handled a significant caseload of planning applications including proposals relating to housing developments (including both houses and flatted developments); changes of land use within town centre locations for a variety of town centre uses; extensions to both domestic and commercial premises – including locally and statutory listed buildings, and the variation and discharging of planning conditions.

Gabriella also has significant experience in dealing with a full range of prior approval applications as well as ‘minor’ proposals relating to shopfronts, advertisement, plant/extraction equipment and outdoor seating.

Highlights

  • Worked on the Conversion and redevelopment of the HCA owned former Fairmile Hospital scheme comprising 350 homes - including post decision amendments and the discharging of planning conditions.
  • Successfully defending a Council decision surrounding the redevelopment of a curtilage listed building in South Oxfordshire.
  • Considerable Green Belt experience including for proposals ranging from domestic and commercial extensions to complete redevelopment - including sites that required justification surrounding the extent of previously developed land.
