Appointed by the London Borough of Waltham Forest, Newsteer were appointed as part of a multidisciplinary design team led by Stallan Brand to deliver Town Centre frameworks for Leytonstone and Chingford Mount. The client’s objective was to maximise the contribution that key regeneration sites could make to the revitalisation of these town centres, ensuring proposals would come forward in a deliverable manner whilst capitalising on the towns’ unique opportunities.

• We provided viability and deliverability advice to ground the vision framework in economic reality – ensuring the wider design team’s proposals were deliverable, and providing recommendations for improving viability where existing constraints were limiting development potential
• In addition to providing development appraisals, we provided specialist Compulsory Purchase advice to the Council to help formulate a strategy for delivering some of the more complex proposed regeneration opportunities
