Southwark Playhouse is a Charity Community Theatre based in Southwark. It is London’s leading off West End theatre and currently presents a year-round programme of plays from its Newington Causeway theatre.

Working with CEO, Chris Smyrnios, the Newsteer team have helped with a number of real estate issues as part of their investment in community theatre in Southwark.

This includes a  lease extension of the existing theatre to ensure continued productions while new theatres are built.

We assisted with their new facility at Elephant & Castle which opens Feb 2023 and in negotiations with CIT Group on the redevelopment of Colechurch House at London Bridge, where they plan to operate a theatre community theatre and supporting café bar and restaurant  in accordance with the Affordable Work Space (AWS) provision within the planning consent
