We are starting the new year with great news at Newsteer. George Meredith and Simon Martin have been promoted to Director.

George has been with Newsteer since 2019 and plays a key role across development consultancy, regeneration, valuation and compulsory purchase. As a RICS Registered Valuer, he advises both public and private sector clients, including major regeneration projects and infrastructure-led development, helping deliver best value to unlock and deliver challenging sites.

Simon joined Newsteer in 2022 and brings extensive investment and strategic asset/development management advice across the property life cycle. He has a strong track record of across all asset classes and advises institutional investors, occupiers and public bodies on acquisitions, disposals, and portfolio/asset strategy.

Their promotions recognise outstanding contribution, progression and the leadership they bring to the business as we move into 2026.

Alongside these Director promotions, Mark Battersby has been promoted to Senior Planner. Mark joined Newsteer in February 2025 and has quickly become a valued member of the planning team, making a strong contribution across a range of projects and supporting clients through the planning process with diligence and insight. His promotion reflects both his impact to date and his continued development within the business.
