Agency (Acquisitions & Disposals)

We are highly experienced at delivering the acquisition of a variety of freehold and leasehold assets. Our experience ranges from small unit shops, offices and commercial premises up to larger supermarkets, retail warehouses and leisure properties.

Our team also specialises in delivering disposals of freehold and leasehold assets. We have brokered deals ranging from lot sizes of circa £1m up to £20m across retail, office and industrial sectors. Our experience includes disposal of short leasehold assets by way of lease assignment.

Asset Strategy

We work with our clients to assist them in preparing asset plans either for individual properties or portfolios of stores. The asset plans encompass our range of specialist services and those provided by our colleagues across other teams in Newsteer including the Development Consultancy, Planning and Regeneration & CPO teams.

Business Rates Advisory

We provide strategic portfolio advice to retailers on business rates matters including future occupational requirements, liabilities and negotiations.

Investment (Acquisitions & Disposals)

Our team provides bespoke advice on investment acquisitions and disposals on small assets from £1m up to major retail and commercial assets of circa £60m. Our particular expertise lies in the food store sector advising funds and property companies.

Investment Advisory

We advise investors on the strength of retail assets, particularly from an occupational viewpoint, with a view to clients confirming their interest in an individual acquisition or formulating an offer. We also provide overviews on property portfolios to inform clients’ strategies for acquisitions and disposals.

Lease Regear & Renewal

Our team has wide ranging experience providing tailored advice to landlords and tenants in order to maximise lease regearing opportunities and achieve client specific goals. We help our client achieve asset enhancement through securing longer lease commitments, protection of strong performing assets, rent reductions, and sharing marriage value.

Our experience enables us to guide clients on the most suitable strategies to achieving desired goals at lease renewal. We advise on 1954 Act legislation, lease terms and appropriate rent facilitates negotiations, and we have in depth knowledge of disputes procedures under the PACT process as well as by reference to Court.

Rent Reviews

We have expert knowledge and proficiency negotiating rent reviews and presenting evidence to Arbitrators and Independent Experts in dispute resolution cases across the spectrum of property asset classes. We seek to deliver optimal results for our clients in the most cost efficient and timely manner.

Our experience of indexed rent review clause construction enables us to provide accurate and reliable advice to clients. Not all provisions are straightforward and understanding the complexities is key to our service.


Our regeneration proposition crystallises delivery of effective change.
