This week our team is attending NHS Property 2022. With a cross-company focus on delivering strategic and site-specific delivery advice to health sector clients, Newsteer works closely with a range of health clients to bring forward new and improved facilities for local communities.

From inception and feasibility through to implementation and delivery, we understand the design and delivery requirements to provide 21st century health care facilities. Working closely with clients, including NHS Trusts and private sector providers, architects, local planning authorities and stakeholders, we are successfully bringing forward new projects, as well as reviewing existing assets, estate rationalisation, and exploring different ways to optimise and improve adjacencies through development options.

Against the backdrop of challenging market conditions – economic instability, build costs, inflation, together with the age old issue of public sector funding availability – our experienced team can provide innovative funding solutions, including working with public and private sector partners, introducing institutional capital and working with REITs.

Through our understanding of the complexity of capital departmental expenditure limits (CDEL)  , we are adept at helping Trusts navigate business cases in order to progress and fund new projects, particularly where new or rationalised expenditure can be supported on these facilities.

Latest projects:

Whittington Hospital Campus

Newsteer advised both the Whittington Health NHS Trust (‘WHT’) and the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) with respect to the Whittington Hospital campus in Archway, London including the delivery of a new mental healthcare facility as well as the Whittington Maternity and Neonatal Transformation Project.

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

Newsteer is currently advising the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust in the delivery of a replacement 100,000 sqm hospital outside the settlement of Bury St Edmunds as part of the Government’s New Hospital Programme.

Vaccination Centres

D

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Newsteer supported QTS and the NHS in North West London in identifying and negotiating the use of a number of sites as large vaccination centres. This helped to accelerate the vaccine rollout in London in early 2021, with Newsteer advising on 11 vaccination sites.
